I have an ideea....

Besides that sounds of the Galactic Magnate game we can implement a "BUZZ" option like the one used in Yahoo Messenger or "NUDGE" option like the one used in MSN Messenger and we can use this when we want to "wake up" somebody that is not "awake".

What do you all say about this?

husky, i love the sound of thsi idea, BUT Caz came up with a good point last night which i have to agree with, the impracticality of this option being readily available for all, is somewhat disturbing.
Could you imagine being in lobby, and writing to someone, and one of these annoying idiots, sits in the lobby, and continuously presses this ''BUZZ'' button ?
i know we could limit to ONE ''BUZZ'' every minute per person or something like that, but what if there is 5 of these idiots in there at same time ?
then how could we moderate these kind of attack ?

like i said, its a great idea, but can we trust the people of GM to be mature enough to use it wisely?

You don't understand me. That option will be used to wake up a specific player, not all.

It will be, for example: /buzz Bill2k06, and so only you will receive a specific sound or something like that.

i love the idea but i think carrie is right. But what if it was just a warning sound at the same volume as normal then it would be perfectly fine. I was just thinking what if somone has no volume or has muted everyone. Other then that i think we should try to get it going.

ah right i thought you ment an overall buzz! i think the individual buzz is good! or even a shake feature to go with it like msn does so even if you dont hear it you should see it even if you are doin other things

i dont think this is needed because i think it would be easier to use different noises for different events in the lobby. eg: entering game makes a certain noise. people talking to eachother: makes a deifferent noise to the "entering game" noise. and so on for every event.. i personally think that thats better because the people who are "asleep" at their keyboard are reall just on a different site and cant tell the difference from someone asking them a question and "entering game" coming up in chat. if they aint at they're keyboard then it wouldnt really make much difference anyway.
