Is it just GM you cannot download and install?

Try another free software or program to check that.

If its everything, then check your pc clock/date etc is set correctly.

Also check that your user account on the pc has the access to install programs etc. You might need it to be on administrator.

Let me know how those things go...if no success have to keep trying.

Yes by the looks of things its just GM that wont download.I tried from the GM website & other website sources all that will not work. Date & time correct. On admin & its not a new computer,same one i used to play on ,still nont managed to solve the problem bt im working on it,Any more ideas ill be happy for ya help.

Its seems llike there is no certificate for the copy of GM im trying to download,Could possibly be sumthing to do with that,When i download GM it comes up as a binary download which it didnt used to do.

It's not the actual download, because I just re-downloaded and installed it again myself.

I have known of one other user who had what appears to be the same problem as you which was quite some time back.

My other suggestion is to try and change the location directory for it to install whilst installing.

It defaults to

c:\Galactic Magnate

But you can force it to go wherever you want it to. Maybe create a new folder to store it in first. Then when you get to screen....

"Setup will install Galactic Magnate into the following folder"
"To continue click next. If you would like to select a different folder, click browse"

So click browse find the folder you created, and set it to go there instead.

If all the basic things fail, and you've tried a reboot, and also redownload the file you might want to try a registry cleaner.

There are many registry cleaners that are free, or come with a free 30 day trial. If you choose to try that, just be sure to backup the registry via the cleaner itself. Also set a windows restore point to cover your back.


Quick question, when you removed GM before....how did you remove it? Via the uninstall, or by deleting out folders?
