Sim please dont open old subjects that have been discussed before.
Tourneys will never have prizes more than the total of the entries paid.

My god bez, you are all over this post crying about those points that you don't care about! I am starting to think that you really were point passing! You must believe people are really dumb!
Since your point passing incident, you said at the time, "I don't care about points, and anyone who knows me knows I don't care about points." Yet, you ramble on and on about how its not fair people get points from tournaments? All I can say, and you can get offended, but the funniest things in life are true, stupid people shouldn't breed!

hhafan - you always make me laugh and i nearly always understand and sympathise with your interpretation because your pretty much right, even if cynical
on a historical note, tournaments used to put points in into the game e.g. ones bill used to run, the ones sim used to run, the ones david used to run, the one i ran and the ones which were run with husky as head mod
i just dont understand the change, the game sholud reward participants to a suitable level but not silly amounts, nothing over 50k split between the winners would be sensible.

Ju let me remind you of a post in mod section that was made by Gaz to you, when you took over tourneys.

cyndi if u want prizes to be in tournies same as the entries paid no problem but u will realize this is the wrong way to conduct a tourney where people spend nearly 2hrs in a tourney & more important i feel some bonus can only be very handy as it can add excitement to this format
but if u dont want to hear any suggestion its ok dear i will be very happy to play in whatever tourney u will do

But, back to the subject matter in question.
Trace, your correct , I was incorrect, the one I ran gave no points, so sorry readers..... 
But, you seem to have lots of time to forray and look back over old posts etc,
Could you do a bit of digging
If we could see some factual statistics, we would be in a position to see what has happened in the past then we can be aware of the facts and not opinions. 
This information will be a good statistic, and to tell the truth, I have no idea what the results will be:
Could you look to see:
Total tournies split between those giving points and those not giving points.
Then, of the ones giving points, the total prize "money" given out over and above the "pool" contributed from participants.
This will provide some facts on what has happened in the past.
Sorry and last;
The max "money" paid out in one tournie by the game.
Point change log will be a good startting point

I'll do some hunting over the long weekend.
They are all in the announcement section, but as some are split entry and result threads its a bit messy. No doubt over time there are older ones that the forum has deleted off in the pruning process  . |
