I thought I'd start a post so everyone can sound off on their superstitions...


Okay I'll start by saying I used to have a whicked superstition about the #13. this used to be a serious prob. cuz I work with numbers all day long at my job and the number would come up often... luckily i convinced myself its only a silly superstition and i finally got over it..


I decided to look up Friday the 13th in Wikipedia to find out why on earth ppl have such a big fear of this date in the 1st place... here's what i found out:


Apparently if anyone has a fear of this date they suffer from a condition called paraskavedekatriaphobia

Also, this date is unlucky b/c the #13 is considered irregular b/c it falls after the #12 which symbolized completeness like with the calendar and clock etc. then friday is said to be unlucky as historically this has been an unlucky day as evident from the Black Friday stock market crash and such


They also threw out some #'s like-
~20 MIL ppl in the US are effected by this date and
it costs $800 or $900 million in lost business on this day alone...
this is rough since only about 1 in 10 yrs have 3 days of the year w/a Friday the 13th and this year happens to be one of them


all i know is tomorrow the governator himself, Arnold, is expected to make a major announcement about the state budget deficit and if the friday the 13th day is any indication it can't be good he is expect to terminate 20,000 CA state employees I guess his up coming cameo appearance in Terminator 4 just isnt enough terminating for him
