As far as i know the definition of a cheat trade is one that does not benefit both players. By trading the greens dj was able to build yellow, moving his end rank from 4th to 2nd, which seems beneficial to me. With green i took first, also beneficial. Did it help Hoopy? No. So i can understand why he didnt like it, but do trades have to benefit ALL players to not be considered a cheat? I hope not. _________________ FREEDOM! |

Is there a list that i could look at to see what is appropriate value for things? and do these change depending on the value of passing go?
and do they also change depending on what is out on the board?
Can i please see the official price guide so i know what is appropriate price for things? this seems kind of ridiculous...
P.S. what IS the definition of a cheat trade? _________________ FREEDOM! |

Before EC properties cannot sell for less than value (original price) after EC they cannot sell for below mortgage value. _________________ CYN

Hang on.. I am bit confused.
I could be wrong but I swear last time I saw this thread CYN said it was not a cheat trade. Was this comment edited/removed? _________________ I am the artist formally known as FINGERBANG! |

3 browns for 1k at +10 is a cheat trade? or 2 yellow for 1500? this seems a little rigid of a system in my opinion. I will follow this rule, but expect to see me reporting large amounts of "cheat" trades soon. _________________ FREEDOM! |

ok after much discussion and thinking i grossly misstated this rule. My apologies, I am human (regardless of what some think )
A trade must benefit both players and should not benefit one A LOT more than the other...yes that makes it vague to a point but it must be as close as possible.
As for the statement that you cannot trade properties for below value, it is not a rule set in stone however it is a guideline and the entire board must be taken into account. The situation with the 3 green for 1000 is an unfair trade in that game and that ruling will not be changed.
When trades involve properties on both sides being traded then having the trade equal on both sides is not always going to happen, when trading property(ies) for cash only then it should be for at least close to the value especially if you are giving a full set at one time. There are many variations of trades and many things taken into account on whether it is a fair trade, a border line trade or a cheat trade. _________________ CYN
