This is my first post... sorry if it misses something.
It was a 4p game.
badboytripeiro (me)
marlon123
Piggie
Porsche
game 31.07.2011 at about 16:00 GMT
already in recession (i think) or very close to it
i made a proposal to marlon123 of 1000 for his two blacks
and 1200 for his reds so it was a total of 2200 for blacks and reds.. and he refused it. no problem in that... i respect this decision.
but few moments after.. he acepted 2500 (from porsche)... for blacks, red, and dark and light blue (cyan?) (not really sure if there wasnt a brown and orange involved). so he basically got 300 more for dark and ligh blue (maybe brown and/or orange)... not even covering the mortage value of those proprieties.
I was fighting porsche (he was ahead) for the win.. and marlon123 was fighting piggie for 3rd.
Isnīt this an unfair trading ?
My offer was clearly better and he acepted the one from porsche. |

Well to be honest when I was looking at the trade between marlon and porsche I did consider ruling it as a borderline trade due to the fact that at that point porsche was in a fairly secure 1st place. However the trade offered to him by marlon did not give him any set, or anything really useful as it was all properties tied up with others. But I can see how porsche would take this as for him it was more a way to secure first place by preventing trades by others on those sets, therefore meaning the trade was beneficial, and equally useful to secure his position of 1st.
The board was really very empty, the only active sets were green (porsche's) and 4 white (badboy).
Now badboy I have to be honest with you, the trades you offered on the black, both to marlon and piggie were really of very low value, and actually debatable if they would be of use to those 2 players. I mean you at one stage were trying to buy 2 black off both for 700, this was start 30. You had good cash, and your offer was below base with positive start still!
Equally the trade offer you made to marlon for red, 1200 this again was a poor offer as you had good cash and parting with the reds held consequence for marlon in hitting them. He would in effect pretty much hand over 1st place to you by doing this, but barely improve, if at all his end rank.
I am assuming he sent this offer to porsche as the cash gave him a fighting chance against piggie, yet did not have the same risks as giving to you.
All in all by the looks of it this was not a very good game, the board was excessively blocked and trade offers were generally not too good meaning the board remained blocked. |

I agree with you in porsches view.. that was a good trade for him... nothing to argue about porsche.
And i never said my offers were very good... iīll accept that marlon refused.
But i canīt agree with this
"I am assuming he sent this offer to porsche as the cash gave him a fighting chance against piggie"
I still dont understand how acepting 2500 (instead of 2200)... and giving more proprieties (and mortage value) increased his chance against piggie. For 300 more i certainly would buy also the other proprieties.
For me it is clear that marlon only did it to piss me and piggie.
ps: not giving me the set i donīt think itīs the risk here... cause he was only fighitng piggie... and the set would hurt marlon as much as piggie.
IN reality i think for marlon it would be better to have another set in the game and try to be more lucky than piggie.... because after the trade he was still heading for 4th. (he had less money, or about the same) and no income at all.
he finished 3rd because piggie quitted. |

Badboy I believe marlon was taking the less risky route to aim at 3rd. I personally would of done the same in his position.
You must also remember that the trades you offered were in 2 stages, he was not to know you would offer another after. Thus like I say, he chose to take the safest route to aim at 3rd, of which was the very best he could possibly get in that game.
Equally a word of advise, it can have a negative affect on your trade prospects to offer bad deals. When people are receiving bad trade offers they are less inclined to accept even a good one you may bring to the table. Its psychological, if you went to a sales man and he attempted to rip you off, would you go back to him again? Or would you already have a negative view of them and be very wary? Trading in GM is not dissimilar, when users know you will not screw them over they will warm to you. You will find trades accepted much quicker, and thus you will benefit greater from this than spending ages sending out bad deals trying to grab a bargain. |
