Post subject: Top Albums of the 2000s Reply with quote

Well now that we've had a little time to live and think in this new decade, I was wondering if anyone else had been thinking about the top albums of the last decade, the 2000s.

I don't really have like a top 10 list or anything like that, but here are a few that I consider to be some of my favorites:

Parachutes- Coldplay
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parachutes

The College Dropout- Kanye West
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_College_Dropout

Small Steps, Heavy Hooves- Dear and the Headlights
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small_Steps,_Heavy_Hooves

Is This It?- The Strokes

Kid A- Radiohead

Moon & Antarctica- Modest Mouse
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Moon_%26_Antarctica

The Devil and God Are Raging Inside of Me- Brand New

I'm Like a Virgin Losing a Child- Manchester Orchestra

Plans- Death Cab for Cutie
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plans_(album)

Castaways and Cutouts- The Decemberists
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castaways_and_Cutouts

Futures- Jimmy Eat World
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futures_(album)

Illinois- Sufjan Stevens
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illinois_(album)

Everything in Transit- Jack's Mannequin

Hopefully this list will reveal some awesome music to someone, and I'm hoping some of you guys have completely different tastes in music with amazing albums that I really need to check out.

Let me know what you think.

A lot of awesome albums. I actually kind of despise Nickelback, but that's just because their sound really bothers me. I guess I can still appreciate their musicianship.

I haven't listened to 3 Doors Down or the Foo Fighters in years. I need to get back into that stuff. Thanks for the reminder Smile
