hi all,

after many days, of inactivity of mods, and jobs not being done, there will be a change of moderators soon,

moderators duties are, to help new players on the lobby, help with posts on forum,kick abusiveplayers from lobby, ban/change points of cheaters, constant scrollers etc, and im not seeing these being done , by anyone but Trace.

As there will be a change very soon, certain playerswill be asked by myself in the lobby and by pm on the forum about maybe filling the positions of moderators, and so im asking that anyone willing to put their name forward, either pm me on forum , or talk to me in lobby over next couple of days.

The attributes i will be asking for are :-

Unbiased players
active for more than 6months of GM, on forum and lobby.
not served any bans within the last 12months,
have at least one account over 30000points(not so important)
can dedicate 3-5hrs a day
willingness to helpnew players understand the game etc.

I hereby nominate Mr Crabbs for the position- he seems to be the most earnest and is an excellent player with a thorough understanding of the game-


If Crabbs were to refuse this nomination, my second choice would be Jatt

I have to refuse the nomination at the moment as I have other commitments. If it is thought I can help then I may try to volunteer as from about June.

Not that Bill is even considering me but if I were to do the job I would need tournament reform as a precondition, and I would want to work on a code of conduct for all mods once in the job, which once it had unanimous approval from all other mods would be published for players to see so they can hold mods to it. It should empower mods too since they would know how they are expected to behave and could be more confident when they had acted correctly.

I have made some quite strong criticisms of the way GM is run at times and it would be pretty strange of me not to want action on those areas. And since I would not want have to agree with mod policy in these areas before I could agree to "cross the bench".

I don't know about jatt as I understand he is currently serving a ban which is not a great springboard for being a mod!

Toonz is an awesome sport, a great player and a really nice guy. He's super-laid back, but that might be a problem - would he be bothered enough to take tricky decisions and do hard investigation? I would like to see him given a chance.

Sim5 doesn't ever use the forum. He has 5 accounts in the top 10 but doesn't play them. This is mod material, when we are discussing ways to make the top ten more competitive?
