I don't know if I agree that points are an outdated concept - pretty well all games have some form of ranking, and points are how we are ranked in GM.

But I can see that having a flat fee to get coins, which you can then use to buy a subscription, or alternatively to gamble with, would be fun.

Importantly, as long as it's possible to play for a flat rate and not gamble, then the gamblers can do as they please!

As I reported before we have received concerns about bets in the game, I respect opinions of GM veterans and we will make full version with flat price subscription (as MrCrabbs suggested).
For some players it will be interesting to play for coins, so we could make this like an option, it will not spoil the main game, players could make a choice.
We don't want to make gambling but have to have redeem options. And I see only one way to spend your coins - subscription, buying VIP status, buying quality magnate's souvenirs (cuff link with your personal chip, purse, pen, watch and so on)

Excellent points presented. I for one am jubiliant about the customization options. I think the ability to personalize will be a great incentive to attract players and keep them around.
