i was a 4p game yesterday , i had a dblue set , there was this guy with cyan set , i had 1 orange , 1 brown , this guy had 2 oranges 2 browns , where evryone would see a direct swap this one wudnt wanna trade coz according to him his credit is low to waste on upgrading brown or orange when he had 4k in cash and the start was around 100 . i could have been first or second in this game , but i came third , losing to some noobs . one heartening thing is he himself ended up last

i know noone can force anyone to trade but this sort of outright stupid play killing himself in the process as well is just too annoying !!!! i ask can something be done abt this ? even though i know the answer

Going back few months I think it is now. This was discussed briefly. Bill was talking about it, not trading when to trade would be beneficial to that player's end rank.

I don't think, if I remember rightly this has ever been dealt with in the way cheat trades are. Its a very difficult one, especially if playing inexperienced players who may not understand properly so refuse trades because they don't see the game as you do.

If I get a chance I may have a look and see if I can find the thread that made reference to it, but dunno how much luck I'll have.

First of all, tell the full story.

Red and purple were both upgraded. You had over 1200 credit. I had 330.

While swapping may seem a good strategy I wasn't going to survive any longer because I got brown or orange. You had more than enough to fully upgrade whatever I gave you. If I had traded you then you would have an extra income along with that 1200 credit to survive, meanwhile I'll drop to under 300 credit facing blue, red, purple and if I recall yellow.

So you want me to add in another 100 or 120 to lose?

I wasn't going to outlast anyone with that trade, I would still have ended up fourth and you might have gotten a higher rank.

I had a better shot just sitting on my cash and hoping the dice would help me out. Instead I hit red every pass and missed purple only twice. If I had traded you I would have dropped at the very start of recession instead of lasting for a little while.

I said to you in game, I have no interest in helping you improve your standing while mine was decided.
