It would take me hours to put these in order in terms of favorites (i started to try, but faltered when i realized how much work it would be), but the following are my favorite artists in alphabetical order:
All Time Low- emo, but unfortunately, i really like the music
The Almost- drummer of Underoath leads a band- great music and lyrics
Anberlin- always liked them
Atmosphere- very vulgar, but i dig the sound, and their lyrics are real life
Augustana- i just like the sound mainly
The Beatles- best band ever
Ben Folds- some crazy songs that tell amazing stories
Brand New- perhaps my favorite band
The Classic Crime- exhilarating first album led to a more mature sophomore album with meaningful lyrics
Coldplay- no need to explain why they are outstanding
Deas Vail- tiny band, but i saw them live, and it was amazing
Death Cab for Cutie- brilliant songwriting; i always come back to them
The Decemberists- love the guy's voice
Emery- i was first introduced to harmonic singing/screaming at the same time, and i was amazed
Family Force 5- fun music
Flobots- they call things into question
The Fray- just the sound mainly
Hillsong- favorite for worship
Iron & Wine- best folk i have ever heard
Jack Johnson- oh how i love acoustic
Jack’s Mannequin- i have listened to their first album a thousand times
John Mayer- i like about half of his stuff, but that half is enough to put him on this list
Kanye West- don't dub him as your average rapper; i know he has an ego, but if you truly listen to the lyrics and feel the beat, you will understand why he is here
Kids in the Way- i first experienced worship through hard rock
Mae- beautiful lyrics and music
Mat Kearney- i really like his unique sound
The New Frontiers- just started listening, and they're broken up, but i love it
Phil Wickham- amazing voice, sings Divine Romance, one of my favorite songs
Radiohead- amazingly talented
Red Hot Chili Peppers- i can listen to them for a long time without stopping
Relient K- i have just about every word memorized from all but their most recent album
The Rocketboys (formerly Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys)- i love them and i can't wait to see them make it big; outstanding ambient
Ruby Queen (not yet known, i just know the band)- worship
The Shins- always makes me happy
Snow Patrol- great mellow stuff
The Strokes- i can't get over their sound
Sufjan Stevens- brilliant songwriter
Switchfoot (and Jon Foreman’s solo stuff)- simply outstanding
Underoath- a hardcore band with a real message, and a 4-string quartet. the instrumentals are amazing, and the words are legit
Much of my musical taste is shaped by my religious beliefs, but in general, i like ambient, alternative, soft rock, a little bit of harder stuff, with random rap thrown in there.
Oh, and also, if i was to be your DJ for a night, you would hear all of these things, intermixed with trance and techno artists that are not listed _________________ if seeing is believing, then believe that we have lost our eyes |

Wow- I haven't heard of most of those...
Mayer and Coldplay are ok, cannot STAND Kanye West as I am a old school rap fan, and to us he's just riding on the coattails of the truly great rap acts from before _________________

Hey Crabbs- I don't know if you listened to the whole playlist of Bob Marley, but I just added about 8 more SUPER Marley songs-
And I'm wondering if you have heard most or some of these- let me know what are your favorites _________________

Going to listen again. All of the list were familiar I think. I bought two two disk sets each with 40 songs on them a few years back. |

OK I am plumping for "Could you be loved, and in love?"
But that is not an easy question. Aside from that maybe "I shot the Sheriff". I just love the idea that you would happily admit you shot the sheriff, but insist you didn't shoot the deputy. I mean, the sheriff had it coming I guess. |

This has changed... a lot... in not a lot of time. I'm almost embarrassed looking at this list haha. Maybe a new one to come? _________________ if seeing is believing, then believe that we have lost our eyes |

Depends on what you mean by best?
Best in skill, influence, success, money, memorability?
There's a lot of factors to be considered and certain bands rank above others in each category. |
