Post subject: good ol' times Reply with quote

i would like to report CYN for, at very least, not punishing cheat trade offers. i don't see how offers, for which in my younger days i got sanctioned for a few times, are not considered cheating any more. these days i often remember, with great sorrow in my heart, good times when trace and mattie were around.

cheers

we were all led to believe that there were certain rules to be followed. so we did, and we punished the ones that did not. it seems now that rules have changed, and cyndi being the only mod around, there is no one to question those changes of rules or their interpretation. personally, i was in a situation to report other players more then few times in the last few weeks, but i've rather let it pass then get agitated by our current mod's misjudgement. and i don't think i'm the only one acting by that thought. therefore, i believe there will be less reporting and more misbehavior in future, and that will worsen the game altogether.

I am sorry you dont like some or any of my rulings. If there is an example i will explain as much as i can however please remember it all depends on the circumstances of the game. I use the rules that were explained and laid out to me by bill when i took this position.

Cyn, is it possible that Bill's rules be laid out in a forum topic too? I believe this will help many ppl to understand the rules easier.

The rules have NOT changed Nilo.

All that has changed is the person responding to complaints. Which may mean (as with any change) they may do things a little differently.

1. "While these were bad trades they were not cheat trades. As for the one you were offered had it been taken it would have been a cheat trade , you declined and he did not repeatedly offer."
http://www.galacticmag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4550

2. "All you have to do is decline it"
http://www.galacticmag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4555

Here are the 2 examples i came across while taking a brief look on some of the posts. I don't understand why the trade can be considered a cheat only if it actually occurs. In other words, cheat trades are only punishable if two people are involved, am i right? Therefore, if i send an offer, let's say 100 for 3rd green on start +320, and the other party rejects it, i'm not to blame? If u please, i would like a clarification on the new system of ruling so i can act accordingly.

thank you

I see how you want cheat trade offers punished Marko, but please consider all situations. The player could be new and ignorant and not know how the game works. I believe if the player THEN makes consistent cheat offers, then his/her points should be reduced with a warning, and if it persists, THEN and ONLY THEN should a ban be issued as we want users to learn, not run away.

In the first example, the players were kikuzza, ooopppsss and lucyuba, all experienced players, and as for Dee in the second one, i can't tell since i do not know him. I agree with u completely, new players should be given a pass on first few offenses and tought as to how to play the game by following the rules, but since this are all old lads and ladies, they don't have the luxury of that option.

The point reductions made for single cheat offers were stopped about Nov last year. I tried it out for a bit, point reductions as if the trade was accepted (even if it wasn't) but it caused some issues so in the nov last year I changed it (after discussing with the mods at the time) to make it bans ( increasing in length for repeated issues, but starting at 5 days) and no penalty for the sending of 1 cheat offer (unless accepted).

So long before I quit it was actually changed. So the only difference I think, is I used to verbally give people a wrap over the knuckles rather than a penalty for the odd cheat offer.

If that is the case, cyndi should have given a warning regarding those offenses, but i didn't see that happening. All she said was "u can reject it". Furthermore, is there a list of players that were issued a warning? I can say from my own experience that ooopppsss and lucyuba have sent (and done) trades like those before, more then once.

REPEATED cheat offers are not allowed. When they are repeated they are penalized. After the penalty if it is repeatedly done and complained about another penalty will be issued. Bad trades are not always cheat trades.
If you repeatedly offer cheat trades and complaints are received you will be penalized. I do not know how to make it any clearer for you. As for you examples each game is different and each situation in the game is different.
This goes back to the people involved may post a complaint, it will be looked into and a judgment will be posted. As for others that were not involved i will not take time to explain each situation to them. Comments on a complaint should only be made by those involved. If you want to discuss anything you werent involved in use the other "general discussion" section.
Also just for your info since you havent been a problem player you may not be aware that sometimes warnings are issued by pm or whisper from the mod to the player/players involved and discussed.
The one example that you gave where i said you can just reject it was a game where it was offered ONCE and not repeated after rejected. If i issued a warning for each individual one it would take hours a day as alot are offered and refused.

Sorry, my wording wasn't great. The point I was trying to make was the actual penalty was no different. In fact the actual thread ages back stated not to post a complaint for one offer when the change was made by me.

Cyndi is doing a great job. I mean I can't begin to tell you just how long it takes to do all she is doing for this place right now.....it literally takes hours a week to check game logs, forum, chats etc.

There will be differences, no matter who does the work, no two people are the same. So try to bare that in mind makro.

i am totally agree with makro. I played with CYN few times and i know how does she play. i want to say it straightly that she is unexperients or she doesnt know about the price value or she is taking advantages as a mod. I complained about her in forum fewdays ago and asked other mods to check it. i got reply from CYN that she is only one mod right now around here. If we talk about fair game we have to be fair and in my opinion she is not doing her work perfectly.

The best mod was trace. She was really really a great mod also a good player. If we have shortage of mods why dont we find some good mod?

Post subject: afraid Reply with quote

I am really afraid that she will banned me because i am complaining about her works all the time. I had problem with her few times and i think i am on her list. I always protest the way she plays. if cheating a good strategy then we should stop complaining and stop playing fair games.

ITS NOT ALL GOOD.
