"Throw the dice fast or computer will do it for you".
Who agree?

15 seconds or less?
Between 15 and 30 seconds?
30 and 45 sec?
45 and 60 sec?
1 to 2 min?
No Time Limit?

Please Vote. Confused

And what will computer do when it encounters choices or where it has to sell houses to pay EC/rent.

I think its perfect to let the time limit run out. Couple of days back i had to switch out of game to attend some calls. This suggesstion will make things unnecessary complicated.

I've said nothing about choices. Wink
Only throwing the dice to make u hurry up. And after throwing the dice for u, and only after doing that the time to go down.

Hmmm in that case on 2nd thoughts i do feel its good idea. What we are thinking is only "AUTO ROLL" of dice. But there should be option to control the roll. Thus when i have nothing to choose, or nothing to do except keep rolling till eternity i would like the comp to auto roll it for me. But when i m very short of money that too in EC, and each of my rolls depends on my opponents. I will make sure i make my sell (or not to sell) upgrades decision before roll.

Hence it can be at max a optional thing, but a very good option indeed.

The reason why I don't want to force anyone to throw dice is that a player might be considering a trade or auction before rolling dice. This thinking can take some time. The current solution does a fine job. I don't think I will be changing timers.

What abt making it a selectable option kreso. I think it will speed up the game. Most ppl take 2-3 seconds to roll. Auto roll will do it in 1 sec may be. And when player does not want to , he can disable that option.

Sounds good. Maybe we will have this option in that custom games. Wink

Throwing dice without "roll dice" button? Nah, that is unthinkable in games with dice.

Err not exactly without button. What we are asking for is "auto click" that button, that too when the player selects it. Games usually runs for 600 rolls. Saving 1 sec in each roll will save like 10 minutes of game time. Worth it i would say.

Yes, I understand that. After selecting 'auto roll' how much time will computer wait before rolling automatically? 1sec? 0,1 sec?

Anyway, in the games I played, people roll within 1 sec. So I don't see a big improvement.

The most time lost by the game is:
- Roll dice animation and player move animation takes 3 seconds, in 500 rolls that's 25 minutes.
- 30 auctions at 30 seconds each is 15 minutes.

About 20 remaining minutes is players thinking and clicking. Which is fine. I don't think I can speed up human aspect of this game anymore.

I think I can make animation faster, and perhaps save another 5-10 minutes, but is that really necessary? Perhaps "fast animation" option that will do animation in 1/3 time, which will make the game shorter by about 25%?

I would say animation is not a big aspect in this game of strategy. I am in favor of reducing time by sacrificing bit of animation. But thats my personal opinion and i do agree that ppl might have other opinions abt graphics.

Regarding "AUTO-ROLL" also consider the fact that average ping i get to game server is about 450 ms. This even rises to 1000 ms. I believe it must be happening to others as well. And at pings of 500 u need 2 sec to roll, at pings of 1000 i struggle to make any addition to main timer which implies i m taking 4 sec to roll !!! Assuming atleast 2 players out of 5 are lagging, 1 more is slow to click, we can sure make this game about 10 minutes faster.

First of all, thank you by commenting.

Well... "Auto-roll". It could be activated if the person is afk (like 5 min out of the pc). Roll and Pass mode lolz Rolling Eyes

But the center idea is how to prevent afk's ruining the game ;(
