I personally prefer Bach and Beethoven.

My favorite instrument is Harpsichord (example of Bach I like). Absolutely love Organ (more Bach) too!

Although I like Piano (Beethoven) as well, mostly since I play it myself.

Perhaps I'll post my piano playing videos someday Razz

Excellent call Falcon, as Bach is my second favorite behind Chopin. I figured someone would post the Dracula song, but your choices are good examples as well. I used to play a little organ myself as a youngster, but haven't touched one in years. However I still appreciate good play and composition.

Am also a Ludwig Van fan.

I really think a performer can make or break a piece. That one is too slow for the Toccata and Fugue in D. I try to look for something around 8 minutes for it. Don't think it has much to do with Dracula, lol. That was kinda humorous though, I guess.

Dorian Toccata makes a lot more use of the foot keyboard and is technically more impressive, I guess that's kinda why I like it more.

Have you heard Rondo A Cappricio before?

I guess everyone has their preferences- I prefer the slower, melodramatic version of that one. But yes, that is Count Vlad's theme song (he told me so at the bar after several Bloody Marys)...

And no I hadn't heard that one from Ludwig before- thanks and post more great stuff

That's the thing though, J. S. Bach wasn't a melodramatic kind of a composer, he's from the Baroque era. That basically means that he concentrated on accentuating the polyphony with melody and harmony, not with exaggerated note durations or rests. That really started up with C.P.E Bach, and a little later, Beethoven REALLY took it to the extreme.

Another wondrous masterpiece from Chopin.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxG-kOTMgaA&feature=related

I had to rank my "best of the best", it would go:

5. Tchaikovsky

4. Mozart

3. J.S. Bach

2. Ludwig Van

1. Chopin

It's close at the top, but I give the slight nod to Frederic, as any list with Beethoven at the top is anticlimatic

This is not exactly a "classical" piece, but it IS a classic song.

I dedicate this one to Miruna, and to all of the members of GM who play this game for the intended reasons:

To have fun, to make new friends, and to learn a little bit

Enjoy

Here is another composer, Ennio Morricone- of whom I particularly fond.

Maybe if you look at my favorite movie list, you can understand why I love his music so.

And it fits the theme of Galactic Magnate so well...
