Post subject: GM losing players Reply with quote

Over last three months, GM has nearly lost 40% of its online population. Where it used to be 30-80 people online 3 months ago, now it merely has 15-50 at any given time. I will like players to put their opinions on why there is such a drastic fall in numbers.

1.Is it because of people talking about other games in lobby and take the players from here out to play them.
2.Is it because of too many people are banned.
3.Is it because of disconnection (which i feel is nearly same as before)

Please put your opinion in case you feel there is any other reason.

there are 2 main reasons for the numbers dropping i feel

not so long ago there was a huge brazilian population in gm but many have been banned but some still some remain and they feel they dont get any support here....they feel frustrated as they dont know how to register their complaints ... support in the way of a portugese speaking mod is needed

disconnection is also problem...it is a big problem..... almost every day there are server problems

and for other games...its like when there was a card craze amongst certain people on gm....gm is still one one choice

I have to admit it does get a bit tiring logging in to play a GM, there are heaps of people connected but only a few apparently waiting to play GM. This problem is then compounded when you ask the lobby who wants to play - or who is waiting to play - and nobody responds - or just continue to use the lobby as a another means to chat all day.

If you aren't a noob, you know that you have to simply be patient and wait....and wait..........and wait.....for ages at times.

BUT - and this can be a problem, you see noobs log in - all eager to play - and they ask and ask and ask and ask if anyone will play with them - and sometimes the people chatting (or just sitting) in the lobby just continue chatting (or sitting or meditating)...noobs get frustrated - might be lucky to get a response or a game. I know if this was me starting out - I wouldnt bother coming back (I was lucky when I started playing, I generally didnt have to wait that long)

I think maybe if you are going to sit in the lobby chatting - it should auto disconnect you after a period of time (very short - maybe 5min) if you havent actually clicked 'join a game' - just leave the people there that want to actually play.

(needs a few more business rules to make it smart to prevent people clicking then 'unclicking' etc)

that's my two cents worth (or $2M in Zimbabwe currency)

The server is unstable and it's the main reason for people to loose their interest in game. It's not funny anymore to loose points for nothing because of D/C.

Regarding the bans, please note that in last couple of months complaints section of our forum is relatively calm. There were just a few bans given for using foul language compared to 3-4 months back when the amount of abusers was huge. The most of the complaints were made agains cheaters, and they receive a point deduction, not a ban. So, banning system is not the problem here. It can be excluded from this list of options.

number of bans issued per month (approx) :

jan 110
feb 80
mar 90
apr 130
may 120

I see increase in number of bans in last two months instead of decrease, so that might be one of reason.

Haha, good strategy. You count the number of IP's. hahaha
Please note that there are users having at least 5 to 10 IP's, so your calculations are tottaly wrong.

You can not count in about 5 minutes as you did the bans from the last 5 months. So, stop writing nonsenses here, will you?

The cases of multiple ips was there also in earlier months, so that rules out the reason of increase in number of bans. Nonsense? I am just asking for opinion of players. Did i offend you in any way? I dont think so. So lets stay on topic as you always request to others.

Thank you.

Please count only the players, not the IP's
And don't post here wrong facts just to let people think what you want.

By the way, why are you a hidden member Fort?
Are you hiding from someone here?

Thank you.

If the facts are wrong according to you, please correct it. If not then they stand as they are. As i said in earlier post, cases of players having multiple IP were also there in previous months. So that cannot be the reason of increase in number of bans.

Not answering any off topic answer. You can pm me if you are so curious.

Thank you. Wink

Oh, almost forgotten Fort... didn't you think that you might be one of the reasons?

Thank you. Wink

So let the players voice their opinion instead of forcing ours on them .Fair enough isnt?
